We support producers, veterinarians, and audit teams with tools that ensure consistent adherence to biosecurity standards and best practices.
The Biosecurity Auditor Team Lead supports Orbit’s biosecurity audit program by training auditors, reviewing their work, and ensuring strict adherence to Orbit’s biosecurity standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistent, high-quality audit outcomes across our biosecurity monitoring processes.
This position is especially suited for a swine focused veterinary student seeking hands-on leadership, audit oversight, and biosecurity experience without the need for farm travel. All work is performed remotely using digital tools, video based review systems, audit scoring platforms, and ongoing communication with the auditor team.
What You’ll Accomplish and Experience
Training & Onboarding
Train new biosecurity auditors on Orbit’s audit procedures, digital tools, reporting processes, and expectations.
Create or update training materials, checklists, and reference guides.
Offer ongoing coaching and answer auditor questions as they arise.
Quality Assurance & Audit Review
Review submitted audits for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to Orbit standards.
Identify inconsistencies, missing information, or deviations from protocol.
Provide feedback and corrective guidance to auditors when needed.
Conduct secondary reviews of flagged audits to ensure integrity.
Team Leadership & Support
Serve as the primary support contact for the biosecurity audit team.
Host periodic remote check-ins to ensure auditors remain aligned with quality expectations.
Monitor auditor performance metrics and document trends or issues.
Recommend improvements to audit processes or standards.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain digital records of auditor performance, quality scores, and audit outcomes.
Summarize audit trends, compliance gaps, or training needs for leadership.
Collaborate with management on refining biosecurity audit criteria or tools.
Desirable Previous Experience
Working knowledge of swine production systems and common biosecurity risks.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable using digital platforms for audits, scoring, and documentation (training provided).
Experience in livestock production or biosecurity auditing (not required).
Familiarity with disease transmission principles (e.g., PRRS, PEDv, influenza).
Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate process compliance.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Part-time: 10–20 hours per week with flexible, student-friendly scheduling.
Fully remote role with all necessary training and access provided.
