We are looking for a developer to build a direct API integration between Hostfully and Respond.io. We manage multiple short term rental properties and use Hostfully as our property management system and Respond.io connected to the WhatsApp Business API as our main guest communication platform. Our goal is to build a reliable and scalable guest messaging system without relying on intermediaries such as Zapier or Make. We want a direct webhook/API connection between Hostfully and Respond.io. ⸻ Scope of the integration 1. Booking and guest data synchronisation Automatically pull reservation and guest data from Hostfully via API or webhooks and create or update the corresponding contact in Respond.io. Data should include for example: • guest name • phone number • property booked • check in and check out dates • booking channel (Airbnb, Booking.com, direct booking etc.) The system must correctly associate each guest with the specific property they booked. ⸻ 2. Automated WhatsApp messaging Booking events from Hostfully should be able to trigger automated WhatsApp messages through Respond.io, such as: • confirmation message after booking • automated message before arrival (for example 24 hours before check in) • check in instructions including property specific details • check out reminders ⸻ 3. Property specific automation Messages and quick replies should automatically adapt depending on the property booked. Examples include: • key box instructions • WiFi details • parking instructions • house rules • property manuals or instructions ⸻ 4. Centralised team messaging All guest conversations should take place via Respond.io so that: • multiple team members can collaborate in a shared inbox • conversations can be assigned to cleaners or maintenance teams when necessary • my personal phone number remains private ⸻ 5. Routing to internal teams The system should allow routing or forwarding certain conversations to internal teams or groups (for example cleaning or maintenance teams) when guests report issues. ⸻ 6. Multi channel messaging In addition to WhatsApp, we would like the system to support messages coming from: • WhatsApp • website chat widget • potentially other messaging channels supported by Respond.io All conversations should appear in the same Respond.io inbox. ⸻ 7. Scalable architecture The integration should be lightweight, reliable and scalable as we plan to add more properties over time. Preferred architecture: Hostfully webhook → small server script or endpoint → Respond.io API We prefer a direct API integration rather than middleware tools like Zapier or Make. ⸻ Technical requirements • experience working with REST APIs • experience with webhook integrations • backend scripting (Node.js, Python or similar) • ability to create a secure and stable integration • clear documentation so the system can be maintained or extended later Experience with Hostfully, Respond.io, WhatsApp Business API or similar SaaS integrations is a strong advantage. ⸻ Project type One time project to build the integration and initial setup. ⸻ When applying please include • examples of similar API integrations you have built • your preferred technical approach for this integration • estimated timeline and price We are looking for a cost efficient but reliable solution that will allow us to scale guest communication as our portfolio grows.
