I organize and run the World Pizza Games, a live competition held during the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas. I am looking for someone to build a digital judging and scoring system using Google Forms and Google Sheets to replace our paper score sheets. Judges should be able to enter scores directly from their phones or tablets while results automatically calculate and update in a master Google Sheet in real time. Because this system will be used during a live event, reliability, speed, and ease of use are very important. The system should use Google Forms connected to Google Sheets so entries submitted from phones immediately feed into a scoring spreadsheet. The spreadsheet must automatically calculate results according to the rules for each competition, apply deductions where required, rank competitors automatically, and display a live leaderboard. The scorekeeper must also be able to manually enter scores using the same form if a judge’s phone is unavailable so all entries feed into the same system. The system must support six competitions with different scoring formats. The first competition is the 1st Division Acrobatic Pizza Tossing competition. This is a judged event where judges score dexterity, difficulty, synchronization, variety, and creativity. Judges may also record drops, and each drop reduces the dexterity score by 0.5 points. Scores from all judges are totaled and competitors are ranked from highest score to lowest. The number of judges may vary from 3 to 10, so the system must scale without breaking the calculations or leaderboard. The number of competitors must also be able to scale without rebuilding the system. The second competition is the Masters Acrobatic Pizza Tossing competition. It uses the exact same judging structure and scoring categories as the 1st Division competition, so the forms for both should be identical. The winner of the 1st Division competition may elect to compete in the Masters competition, so a competitor may appear in both events. Three competitions are time-based: Triathlon, Fastest Dough, and Box Folding. In these events the timekeeper enters the completion time for each competitor and competitors are ranked from lowest time to highest time. The final competition is Largest Dough Stretch. Two measurements of the stretched dough are entered and the final score is the average of those measurements. Competitors are then ranked based on that average. The system must allow the number of competitors to scale without breaking the forms, calculations, or leaderboard. Each competition should have its own scoring form or sheet but operate within one overall system for consistency. Each competition should also have a live leaderboard showing at minimum competitor rank, competitor name, and the final score, size, or time depending on the event. The leaderboard may be displayed on a laptop, monitor, or projector during the event. Because this will be used during a live competition, the interface must be simple and dependable. Scores should be easy to enter from phones, duplicate submissions should be prevented or flagged, incomplete judging should be handled properly, and rankings should calculate automatically without manual sorting. We are looking for someone who can design the Google Forms, build the scoring logic in Google Sheets, implement ranking and leaderboard displays, and ensure the system works reliably during a live event. Experience with Google Sheets automation, Google Forms integrations, and Google Apps Script is highly preferred. There is a tight timeline and the system must be completed by March 20. Please only apply if you can start immediately and meet this deadline. When submitting a proposal please include examples of similar Google Sheets or Google Forms systems you have built, your estimated timeline, confirmation that you can begin immediately, and your estimated project cost.
