We are seeking an experienced Venture Capital Funding Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong international network and deep knowledge of fundraising for technology and science research startups. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience guiding companies through funding rounds from Pre-Seed through Series D, with the ability to advise on strategy, investor targeting, and fundraising execution across global markets.
This role is suited for professionals who have worked with venture-backed startups, VC firms, accelerators, research commercialization teams, or deep-tech founders. The SME will support fundraising strategy, investor readiness, and capital introduction efforts for innovative startups operating in high-impact scientific and technological fields.
Key Responsibilities
Advise startups on venture capital fundraising strategies from Pre-Seed through Series D.
Evaluate startup investment readiness, including pitch decks, financial models, and data rooms.
Identify and recommend relevant global venture capital firms, family offices, and strategic investors.
Provide guidance on VC expectations, valuation considerations, and term sheet structures.
Support founders in refining investment narratives, especially for deep-tech and research-driven ventures.
Offer feedback on pitch decks, executive summaries, and investor communication materials.
Assist with investor outreach strategy and warm introductions where appropriate.
Provide insights on fundraising timelines, milestones, and due diligence preparation.
Advise on positioning startups for institutional venture capital and cross-border investors.

Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in venture capital, startup fundraising, or venture advisory.
Track record working with startups across multiple funding stages (Pre-Seed to Series D).
Strong understanding of global venture capital ecosystems (US, Europe, Asia, Middle East, etc.).
Experience supporting deep-tech, scientific, or research-based startups.
Familiarity with term sheets, cap tables, and venture financing structures.
Ability to analyze startup business models, technology differentiation, and market potential.
Strong communication and advisory skills with founders and executive teams.
Nice to Have
Background in venture capital firms, investment banking, startup accelerators, or technology commercialization.
Existing network of venture capital investors and institutional funds.
Experience raising capital for research-driven or university-originated startups.
