We’re looking for a WordPress backend developer to help us implement and extend the WordPress MCP Adapter (Model Context Protocol) and build custom functionality that allows AI tools to interact with our WordPress sites. The work will mainly involve custom plugin development, API integrations, and exposing WordPress functionality through MCP so AI systems can interact with it. We’re ideally looking for someone who is comfortable with: - Custom WordPress plugin development - REST APIs and third-party integrations - Debugging and extending existing WordPress sites - Automation workflows or integrations - WooCommerce or ecommerce sites (a plus) - Experience with AI integrations (OpenAI, automation tools, or agent frameworks) is helpful but not required. The most important thing is strong WordPress backend and API experience and the ability to implement new frameworks based on documentation. We are a small technical team building AI-enabled workflows around WordPress, so we value clear communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively while figuring things out together.
