About the Role We are looking for a senior automation engineer to design and build the internal systems that power our sales, marketing and delivery operations. This is a hands-on execution role for someone who can think in systems and build quickly. You will design automation infrastructure, integrate AI-driven workflows and create reliable internal tools that allow the business to scale efficiently. Most of the work involves building intelligent automation systems that connect our CRM, outreach platforms, data pipelines and internal workflows. The goal is to remove manual work, increase speed and improve decision-making across the company. This is not a traditional developer role and it is not basic Zapier work. We are looking for someone who can architect practical automation systems and ship improvements regularly. You should be comfortable working independently, solving problems without detailed instructions and continuously improving systems as the business grows. What You’ll Work On - Designing and building advanced automation workflows across the company - CRM architecture and automation - AI-assisted systems for data analysis, outreach generation and decision support - Building AI-powered workflows that assist with grant analysis, opportunity matching and proposal preparation - API integrations including webhooks, authentication and data mapping - Building and maintaining data pipelines for ingesting and structuring information - Web scraping and structured data extraction where required - Designing internal databases, data schemas and system logic to support automation - Creating lightweight internal tools and dashboards for internal teams - Connecting outreach platforms, CRM systems and reporting tools - Implementing monitoring, error handling and reliability for automation systems - Improving and refining existing systems to make them faster, simpler and more scalable Who This Role Suits - Strong self-starter - Bias toward action - Comfortable working independently - Thinks in systems and architecture - Able to design clean, reliable automation structures - Ships quickly and iterates - Communicates clearly in English - Takes ownership of outcomes If you prefer long planning cycles or heavy structure before acting, this role will probably not suit you. Requirements - Strong experience with modern automation platforms such as Make.com, Zapier, n8n and agentic AI systems - Solid CRM automation experience - Confident working with APIs, webhooks and authentication - Experience building AI-powered workflows or agent-based automation - Experience designing data structures and automation logic for complex systems - Web scraping capability - Ability to design reliable automation with monitoring and error handling - Excellent written and spoken English - Daily communication and availability for calls - Freelancer only, no agencies You must have real examples of automation systems you have built and be able to demonstrate them live. Hiring Process Stage 1: 20 minute video call with camera on You will share your screen and walk us through the most complex automation system you have built. We want to see real workflows, real logic and understand the impact. Show the system running and explain how it works. Only candidates who clearly demonstrate strong practical capability will move forward. Stage 2: Technical discussion We will review real projects we are planning and assess your technical approach. There may be a short live exercise to understand how you think and how quickly you work. Stage 3: Paid trial A small but real project. If successful, this becomes a long-term role.
