**Description:** We are seeking a skilled data researcher or data engineer to help build a **comprehensive database of healthcare providers in the United States**, starting with **podiatrists and nurse practitioners** and expanding over time to additional specialties. The initial phase will focus on providers in the following states: * Florida * Georgia * Texas * New York * New Jersey However, the long-term objective is to build a **nationwide database covering all 50 states**. This project **does not necessarily need to be automated**, although automation is welcome if it improves accuracy or efficiency. A well-structured manual or semi-automated data collection process is perfectly acceptable. We want someone who can **think strategically about building a scalable provider database**, not just deliver a basic list. --- **Initial Provider Types (Phase 1):** * Podiatrists (DPM) * Nurse Practitioners (NP) --- **Future Specialties (Phase 2+ Expansion):** We plan to expand the database to include: * Vascular Surgeons * Geriatric Physicians * Dietitians / Nutritionists * Wound Care Specialists * Internal Medicine Physicians * Home Health Providers * Other relevant specialties Experience working with **medical provider datasets or healthcare directories** is strongly preferred. --- **Required Data Fields:** The database should include the following information whenever available: * Provider full name * Specialty / taxonomy * NPI number * Practice or organization name * Practice address * City / State / ZIP * Phone number * Website (if available) * Email address (if publicly available) * Any additional useful contact or practice information --- **Data Sources May Include (but are not limited to):** * NPI / NPPES provider datasets * Public healthcare directories * State licensing boards * Professional association directories * Practice websites or publicly available contact listings All data must come from **legitimate and publicly accessible sources**. --- **Deliverables:** * Clean, organized provider database * Deduplicated and standardized records * Exportable format (CSV, Google Sheets, or database-ready format) * Documentation explaining data sources and methodology used --- **Ideal Candidate:** We are looking for someone who: * Has experience with **large-scale data collection or provider databases** * Is highly detail-oriented * Understands healthcare provider specialties and taxonomy systems * Can recommend the best structure for a database that will continue to grow over time * Can deliver **high-quality, accurate datasets** --- **Project Scope:** Phase 1: Build the initial dataset for podiatrists and nurse practitioners in the five starting states. Phase 2: Expand coverage to **all U.S. states**. Phase 3: Add additional provider specialties and enrich the database further.
