We are looking for a highly experienced AWS architect or DevOps engineer to help us design and execute a migration from a hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + AWS) to a fully AWS-based environment. Our platform is a large-scale Laravel application with millions of users and significant infrastructure complexity. We want to move away from our on-premise environment and consolidate everything into AWS while maintaining high availability, performance, and operational simplicity. We already run part of our infrastructure in AWS, so this project is primarily about architecture design, migration planning, and implementation guidance. Our system currently runs in a hybrid setup: - On-premise (primary environment) - Large Laravel monolith - MariaDB Enterprise cluster - Redis with Sentinel - HAProxy for load balancing - Virtual machines running on Proxmox - Multiple services deployed across several nodes AWS (microservices platform) - Laravel microservices deployed to AWS EKS - RDS used for some service databases - ElastiCache (Redis) used by services - Container-based deployments (Docker) While this setup works, maintaining two infrastructure environments adds complexity, operational overhead, and limits our ability to scale easily. Project Goal - We want to migrate the entire platform to AWS and simplify the architecture. - EC2/EKS for application servers - Route53 for DNS and traffic management - ElastiCache (Redis) for queues, cache, and sessions - MariaDB running on EC2 (rather than RDS, due to specific requirements) - Load balancing via AWS-native solutions - Infrastructure that can be recreated via automation (Terraform/Ansible/etc.) We are open to architectural improvements if you believe better options exist. We are looking for someone to help with: - Creating a migration strategy from on-prem → AWS - networking, security, scaling, cost optimisation - Helping implement infrastructure (IaC preferred) - Supporting the migration of services and databases - Ensuring reliability and operational visibility
