We are hiring a high-level Klaviyo technical and automation specialist to own retention strategy, backend setup, optimisation, execution and ongoing performance improvement.
This is NOT an email designer role.
This is NOT a general marketer role.
You will focus purely on:
-Strategy
-Automation architecture
-Backend Klaviyo setup
-Performance optimisation
-Deliverability
-Data tracking
-Execution
You will collaborate with:
Our Marketing Manager (strategy alignment)
Our Ecommerce Email Designer (creative execution)
This is ongoing monthly work.
We operate two ecommerce brands. We will begin with one.
Your Immediate Objective
-Analyse current Klaviyo account performance
-Identify constraints, inefficiencies, and revenue gaps
-Audit existing flows (already built but under-optimised)
-Identify missed campaign opportunities
-Build a clear 90 day strategy
-Execute backend improvements inside Klaviyo
Required: Deep Klaviyo Technical Mastery
You must have comprehensive understanding of:
-Account Setup & Integrations
-Shopify integration
-Tracking configuration
-Product feeds
-Custom properties
-Event tracking
-List & segment architecture
-Attribution settings
Core Ecommerce Flows (Must Be Expert Level)
You must be confident building and optimising:
-Welcome Series
-Abandoned Cart
-Abandoned Checkout
-Browse Abandonment
-Post-Purchase
-Customer Thank You / Nurture
-Cross-Sell / Upsell
-Sunset / Winback
-Back-in-Stock
-Price Drop
-Replenishment (if applicable)
Advanced Flows & Conditional Logic
You must understand:
-Multi-branch conditional splits
-Dynamic segmentation triggers
-Predictive analytics usage
-VIP segmentation flows
-High AOV customer paths
-Repeat purchase acceleration flows
-Smart sending logic optimisation
- AI-driven optimisation testing
Weekly Campaign Strategy
We are currently underutilising campaigns.
You must:
-Develop structured weekly campaign strategy
-Align campaigns with flow timing
-Avoid over-sending while maximising revenue
-Build segmentation strategies per campaign
-Structure high-performance campaign calendars
-Deliverability Knowledge
-Sender reputation management
You must understand
-Inbox placement testing
-Suppression hygiene
-Engagement-based pruning
-Deliverability monitoring systems
-Both foundational and advanced best practices.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
You must creat/build a Google tracking dashboard (external sheet) that tracks:
Core metrics:
-Emails Sent
-Open rate
-Click-through rate
-Click-to-open rate
-Conversion rate
-Revenue per recipient
-Revenue per campaign
-Revenue per flow
-Revenue per subscriber
-List growth rate
-Unsubscribe rate
-Spam complaint rate
Advanced retention metrics:
-Revenue per profile (RPP)
-AOV from email
-Purchase frequency
-Customer lifetime value influenced by email
-Flow vs campaign revenue split
-Deliverability trend analysis
You will:
-Strategise with the Marketing Manager
-Communicate daily/weekly via Slack
-Work within Australian business hours (AEDT 9am–5pm overlap required)
-Collaborate closely with our Email Designer
-Translate performance data into design feedback
Important:
You may understand design, but your role is strategy + backend + performance. Creative execution belongs to the designer.
Current Situation
-Core flows are already built (outsourced previously)
-They require auditing and optimisation
-Weekly campaigns are underutilised
-Revenue opportunity is being missed
We want someone who can:
-Identify bottlenecks
-Improve underperforming flows
-Increase revenue per subscriber
-Build a clear, scalable retention engine
Preferred Experience with (Strong Advantage):

If you have implemented AI-driven retention systems before — highlight it.
This is ongoing.
We want a long-term retention freelancer who:
-Continuously optimises
-Monitors performance
-Tests aggressively
-Increases attributed revenue month over month
