About the Role
We are a specialized direct-hire recruiting firm focused on high-quality, hard-to-fill engineering and technical roles in defined niches and geographic markets.
We are hiring a Business Development Manager whose primary responsibility is to convert hiring opportunities into high-quality job orders.
This is a sales-first role focused on discovery, qualification, and relationship management — not candidate sourcing. You will work with opportunities already identified by our system, speak directly with hiring managers, and open jobs that our recruiting team can successfully fill.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Core Responsibilities
• Conduct discovery calls with hiring managers and decision-makers
• Qualify hiring needs, urgency, and expectations
• Push back on low-quality, unclear, or unrealistic job requests
• Convert opportunities into approved job orders
• Manage client relationships after intake (account management)
• Use LinkedIn to research companies, roles, and decision-makers
• Maintain clear notes and accurate data in Bullhorn
• Follow defined intake criteria and sales process (no guesswork)

What We’re Looking For
Required
• Strong B2B sales experience (staffing/recruiting is a plus, not required)
• Comfortable leading discovery calls and controlling conversations
• Ability to qualify out bad opportunities (not everything is a “yes”)
• Clear, confident spoken English
• Strong written English for CRM notes and follow-ups
• Experience using LinkedIn for B2B sales (research, outreach, follow-up)
• Organized, process-driven, and coachable
Nice to Have
• Experience selling professional or consulting services
• Staffing or recruiting industry exposure
• Basic understanding of engineering or technical disciplines
(e.g., mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, controls, automation)
• Experience with Bullhorn or another CRM/ATS
You do not need an engineering background — just enough fluency to speak credibly with hiring managers.
