The Role We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take full ownership of our AWS infrastructure. This is a hands-on role where you will manage our high-availability database layers, streamline our CI/CD pipelines, and provide the expertise needed to scale our architecture. Your immediate mandate is to lead our ECS implementation. We need someone who can stabilize, optimize, and own our containerized environment from day one. You will also be responsible for setting the technical roadmap as we look toward future-proofing with EKS. Core Responsibilities ECS Ownership: You are the lead on our Amazon ECS environment. You will own the full lifecycle—from service definitions and task scaling to troubleshooting networking bottlenecks and improving container density. Database Reliability: Manage and optimize our database layers (RDS/Aurora). You are responsible for ensuring performance, high availability, and secure data handling. CI/CD Pipeline Architecture: Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid, safe, and automated deployments. Cloud Operations: Maintain our broader AWS ecosystem using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK). Future-Proofing: Beyond the immediate ECS focus, you will evaluate and guide our transition strategy for EKS and overall cloud-native growth. Requirements Senior-Level AWS Mastery: You have "battle scars" from managing complex AWS environments. You understand IAM, VPCs, and networking at a deep level. Container Expertise: Proven track record running ECS in production. You know how to debug task failures, manage environment variables at scale, and handle service discovery. Database Proficiency: Solid experience with RDBMS performance tuning and management in a cloud environment. Automation Mindset: You don't just "run" infrastructure; you write code to manage it. You prioritize repeatability and auditability. Strategic Thinking: You can weigh the operational complexity of ECS vs. EKS and make the right call for our specific business needs.
