We're seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our primary care practice and manage our billing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing codes, insurance verification, and patient accounts. Your role will include processing claims, following up on outstanding payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies. Responsibilities • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits. • Submit accurate billing data and claims to insurance companies. • Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve denials or rejections. • Monitor and address aging accounts receivable. • Update insurance and patient information in the billing software. • Communicate with insurance providers to resolve discrepancies. • Prepare and process invoices and statements. • Ensure patient records and charges are accurate and up-to-date. • Assist patients with payment plans and resolve billing inquiries professionally. • Provide clear communication with team members, patients, and physicians.
