We are an established e-commerce company seeking a Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting operations following our QuickBooks → NetSuite migration. This role requires someone experienced in multi-channel ecommerce, inventory accounting, and system reconciliations. While our NetSuite migration is being finalized, we need a strong accounting professional who can help ensure accuracy post-migration, identify issues, and maintain clean, audit-ready books. You will work alongside leadership and an external accounting firm that provides oversight and tax preparation, but you will own the integrity of the day-to-day accounting. Core Responsibilities (Required) Bookkeeping & Reconciliation Maintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping in NetSuite Reconcile: Bank and credit card accounts Shopify payouts Amazon Seller Central settlements Ensure accurate classification of: Revenue COGS Merchant processing fees Operating expenses Inventory Accounting & Control (Critical) Oversee inventory accounting within NetSuite Ensure inventory balances reconcile between: NetSuite Shopify Warehouse reports Review and account for discrepancies, adjustments, shrinkage, and write-offs Conduct formal inventory audits at least 1–2 times per year Ensure COGS and inventory valuation remain accurate and aligned with actual counts Proactively identify integration or posting errors affecting inventory Accounts Payable & Operations Manage Accounts Payable and ensure bills are paid on time Support clean and timely month-end close Prepare documentation for external accounting review Sales Tax Review Review state sales tax filings prepared through TaxJar, Avalara, Numeral, or similar tools prior to automated submission Post-Migration Review Identify and flag accounting inconsistencies arising from the NetSuite migration Communicate clearly and confidently about issues that require correction Required Experience Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite Proven experience in e-commerce accounting with inventory Experience managing multi-channel sales (Shopify + Amazon required) Experience reconciling payment processors (PayPal required) Solid understanding of inventory valuation, COGS, and physical count reconciliation Experience with sales tax automation platforms (TaxJar, Avalara, Numeral, etc.) Excellent English communication skills (US-based or international candidates welcome) Comfortable working independently and speaking up when discrepancies arise Scope Clarification Our external accounting firm will: Provide oversight and review of bookkeeping Conduct monthly reviews for the first 90 days post-migration Transition to quarterly reviews thereafter Handle tax planning and preparation of required filings (Sales tax nexus handled via Shopify) This role is responsible for maintaining accurate books and operational accounting integrity.
