About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Lead GIS Engineer to join our collaborative team and contribute to the development of a plan generator module for a production-scale, flagship geospatial solution. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced GIS workflows, databases, and interactive web mapping applications that drive operational and strategic decisions. You will work closely with other developers, data architects, and project stakeholders to ensure high-quality, scalable, and performant geospatial solutions. This position plays a critical role in shaping the GIS architecture, automating workflows, and establishing best practices across the project. Responsibilities: - To configure, manage, and optimize ArcGIS Enterprise components, including Server, Portal, and Data Store. - To create, manage, and publish complex map services and geoprocessing tasks using ArcGIS Pro (Advanced). - To develop custom GIS tools and automation scripts using Python, including ArcPy and the ArcGIS API for Python. - To integrate ESRI tools with spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS or SQL Server) for high-performance geospatial data management. - To build interactive, map-centric web interfaces using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript or Flutter-based GIS integrations. - To define and enforce geospatial data modeling standards, architecture best practices, and regulatory compliance for public works or transportation projects. - To collaborate with project teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and scale GIS workflows and services. - To document technical designs, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainable solutions. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field. - At least 6+ years of professional experience in GIS development with proven enterprise-level ESRI expertise. - Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, including Server, Portal, and Data Store. - Expert-level proficiency in ArcGIS Pro for map services, geoprocessing, and spatial analysis. - Advanced programming skills in Python, specifically ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python. - Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or SQL Server for spatial database integration. - Experience in building web mapping applications using ArcGIS Maps SDK (JavaScript) or Flutter. - Strong understanding of geospatial architecture, data modeling, and industry-standard regulatory frameworks (public works, transportation, or similar). - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in evolving project environments.
