I installed OpenClaw and tried to use the Chrome Browser Relay extension to connect to a local Gateway. I ran into constant WebSocket reconnect loops, token mismatches, and authentication mode conflicts between device-token and token auth. I also accidentally mixed dev and normal profiles, which caused port confusion (18792 vs 19001) and multiple gateway instances. The extension would connect briefly, then fail with “unauthorized”, “invalid request frame”, and “handshake failed” errors. At some point, I also tried accessing an old dashboard port (18789) that was no longer serving anything, which caused connection refused errors. In short: profile conflicts + auth mode mismatch + port confusion led to unstable WebSocket connections and relay failures.
