Technical Product Manager / Product Engineer SaaS (PHP/Laravel) – Founder-Facing Role Hi, I’m Luke, founder of an Australian SaaS company in the Work Health & Safety (WHS) space. We’re growing, and I need someone to own the space between ideas and engineering. Right now, too much product thinking sits in my head. I need someone who can extract ideas, structure them properly, and work directly with our dev team to ship features cleanly and with minimal rework. This is not a ticket-writing role. This is not a junior PM role. This is a hands-on product + technical execution role. About the Product SaaS platform (compliance / training / workflow heavy) Backend: PHP (Laravel) Dev team: India QA & support: Philippines COO: Pakistan Fully remote, globally distributed team Clear communication is non-negotiable. What You’ll Actually Do You will act as the bridge between: Founder → Product → Developers → QA → Customers Specifically, you will: Take raw feature ideas (from me or customers) and turn them into structured concepts Challenge vague thinking and force clarity Create wireframes / Figma designs where needed Think through system impact (not just UI changes) Break features into: Clear scope Edge cases Acceptance criteria Work directly with developers to: Clarify feasibility Refine scope Reduce ambiguity before builds start Support testing in staging Work with QA/support to prepare features for release Help ensure documentation and release notes are clear Your job is to reduce rework and increase build velocity by increasing clarity. What You Must Have Strong spoken and written English (live calls required) Solid understanding of PHP/Laravel architecture Experience shipping real SaaS features Confidence speaking directly with developers Systems thinking (understanding downstream impact of changes) Ability to push back when ideas don’t make technical or product sense High ownership mentality If you avoid live discussion or struggle explaining complex technical topics clearly, this role is not a fit.
