I’m looking for an experienced Excel data specialist to assist with merging and cleaning two customer contact lists. I currently have: • One CSV export from Google Contacts • One CSV export from Xero Both files contain customer contact information but have different column structures, naming conventions, and formatting. The objective is to create a single, clean Excel master database that: 1. Combines both files into one structured workbook 2. Standardises column names and formatting 3. Aligns fields correctly (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Company, Email, Phone, Address, etc.) 4. Removes duplicate contacts using: • Phone number as the primary identifier • Address as the secondary identifier where phone numbers are missing or inconsistent 5. Preserves all available data where one record contains more information than another (i.e., merge fields where appropriate rather than simply deleting duplicates) 6. Includes a “Source” column identifying whether the contact originated from Google or Xero 7. Delivers the final output as a clean, well-structured Excel (.xlsx) file (not CSV) Additional requirements: • Phone numbers standardised (consistent formatting, no spaces or special characters where possible) prior to deduplication • Address fields standardised to ensure accurate secondary matching • No loss of usable data during merging • Final file structured to serve as an ongoing master customer database This task is time-sensitive, as the final database will be included in our contract of sale documentation for the business and will form part of the primary customer database being transferred.
