We are looking for an experienced Rhino/Grasshopper developer to build a web-based 3D configurator for custom outdoor garden panels. The goal is to allow customers to design their own panels online and generate production-ready 2D DXF files for our Versatech CNC cutting table (running ZebraCut).
The Scope
The program must handle bespoke geometry, hardware placement, and real-time pricing for a sewing-only production workflow.
Key Technical Requirements:
Core Geometry: Build panels based on Opening Width/Height. Support "Advanced Measurement" mode for out-of-square openings (4-point/diagonal inputs).
Manufacturing Constraints: * Hard limit of 1500mm width per panel (based on PVC roll widths).
Automatic "Vertical Split" logic if the opening exceeds the material width.
Window material capped at 1400mm height.
Construction Method: * 2-Ply Reinforcement: Generate separate 50mm–60mm canvas strips for edges (no folded hems).
Square Corners: 90° corners for all standard panels to facilitate binding.
Safety Zones: Enforce a 50mm canvas border between windows/zippers and panel edges.
Access Logic: Ability to add Single Splits (1 zip) or Roll-up Doors (2 zips) before window placement.
Hardware Automation: * In-Frame: Generate pen-tool stitch lines for Kedar.
On-Frame: Generate pen-tool marks for Turn-Buttons/Eyelets on the top and sides.
Bottom Edge: No fasteners; generate a separate "Pocket Strip" for weighted bars.
Pricing & E-Commerce:
Implement a dynamic pricing engine in Grasshopper based on:
Linear meter consumption of 1500mm roll (Fabric) and 1400mm roll (PVC).
Labor rate with assigned time-values for specific tasks (binding, windows, zips).
Individual hardware unit costs.
A fixed Setup Fee per order.
Deliverables:
Grasshopper Script: Optimized for ShapeDiver deployment.
Output Files: Individual, un-nested DXF components for ZebraCut (Main Panel, PVC, Strips) with specific layer-to-tool assignments (Cut, Pen, Text).
UI Design: Intuitive sidebar in ShapeDiver for fabric selection, mounting toggles, and measurement input.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience with ShapeDiver and API integrations.
Background in technical textiles, marine upholstery, or tensile architecture.
Understanding of CNC nesting workflows (specifically ZebraCut or similar).
