I am currently developing a robotics project focused on agriculture/industrial automation and I'm looking for an expert mechanical engineer to handle specific development phases for a system designed for heavy-duty and harsh environments. This is a stealth project. Full technical specifications and CAD envelopes will be shared only after an NDA is signed. The Role & Challenges: The system must be rugged, cost-effective, and precise. I need someone who can design under strict physical and budget constraints without compromising on durability. Required Core Skills: - CAD, Prototyping & DFM: Expert modeling with a focus on manufacturing and assembly. - Actuators & End-Effectors: Selection of high-torque components and end-effector programming. - Simulation & Testing: Running tests to ensure reliability in outdoor/harsh conditions. - Controls & Systems: Ability to bridge the gap between mechanical hardware and software control. Deliverables: - Complete CAD Models & BOM: Full design and prioritized list of parts within budget. - Simulation Reports: Data proving the design survives the intended environment. - System Workflow Design: Detailed logic and workflow for coding and software control integration. - Remote Build/Handover: Ability to handover instructions for me to assemble and calibrate the physical system remotely/locally based on your designs.
