Hi Justin, We are seeking an experienced AI and automation developer to create a fully functional after-hours operator to support our disability support workers. The goal is to build a system that can handle calls, provide guidance, and manage shift replacements autonomously, while understanding our policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: After-Hours Call Handling: Answer calls from disability support staff after hours. Use AI to understand the caller’s situation and provide guidance according to our policies (e.g., escalate to emergency services if required, de-escalate situations on-site). Convert speech to text and process it for decision-making. Shift Management Integration: Interface with ShiftCare to update, reassign, or cancel shifts when staff call in sick. Identify available replacement staff based on location (e.g., Sydney vs Canberra) and skills. Trigger notifications via MS Teams or ShiftCare messaging to staff to fill shifts. AI Decision-Making & Policy Awareness: Understand and apply internal policies and procedures. Make decisions such as: “Call ambulance for medical emergency,” “Notify supervisor for behavioural incident,” or “Find replacement staff for sick call-out.” Automation & Integration: Connect AI decision-making with external systems (ShiftCare, MS Teams, SMS gateways like Twilio). Build workflow automation to ensure real-time updates and notifications. Requirements: Proven experience in AI agents, chatbot or voice assistant development. Experience with API integrations (ShiftCare, MS Teams, Twilio, or similar). Strong understanding of workflow automation platforms (Zapier, Make/Integromat, n8n) is preferred. Ability to implement decision-making logic for shift replacement and escalation scenarios. Familiarity with disability support or care industry processes is a bonus. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Deliverables: Fully working AI-powered after-hours operator capable of taking calls and processing them. Integration with ShiftCare for shift updates and replacements. Integration with MS Teams / SMS for staff notifications. Admin interface or reporting to review call logs, shift changes, and AI decisions. Documentation and training materials for system use. Preferred Timeline: Initial prototype: 4–6 weeks Full deployment and testing: 8–10 weeks
