Job Description SummaryGE Vernova is seeking a Field Service Engineer – Generator Controls (Lead) to join our Regional Services team, supporting customers across Australia and the broader APAC region. This is a hands on, customer facing role focused on delivering high quality field services for generator excitation and static starter control systems.Job DescriptionIn this role, you will take a lead position in planning and executing site activities, managing resources and logistics, and delivering safe, timely, and reliable service outcomes for our customers’ power generation assets.What you will doExecute retrofit, maintenance, and commissioning activities for generator control systems, including installation, power‑up, loop checks, and commissioningWork with excitation and static starter control platforms such as EX2100e, EX2100/EX2000, and LS2100eLead on‑site activities, including supervision of electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation subcontractorsPlan and coordinate site activities including scheduling, pre‑mobilisation, commissioning, and project handoverTroubleshoot control, instrumentation, and networking issues during warranty and post‑warranty periodsRespond to customer call‑outs and provide on‑site technical supportCollaborate with project managers, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, financial performance, and customer satisfactionComplete service documentation including time sheets, reports, and invoicing packagesIdentify change‑order opportunities and support technical input into proposals and solutionsThis role involves significant travel (up to 70%) and occasional overtime, aligned with customer and project requirements.What we’re looking forDegree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experienceAt least 5 years’ experience in field engineering within power generation, industrial automation, DCS, PLC, or similar environmentsExperience in either EX2100e, EX2100 or LS2100e is essential to the success of this roleHands‑on experience with generator excitation and/or static starter control systemsStrong troubleshooting capability across control systems, instrumentation, and networkingExperience working in customer sites and field service environmentsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote and cross‑functional teamsStrong communication skills and a customer‑focused mindsetProficiency with standard computer tools and ability to learn control system software (e.g. HMI and configuration tools)Why GE VernovaAt GE Vernova, we are committed to delivering reliable, sustainable energy solutions while fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.Additional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No#LI-Remote – This is a remote position
