Think of it more like being a VIP member of our extended team, rather than taking on a full-time position.</p> <h3>How this works:</h3> <ul> <li>If you qualify for our contractor pool, we’ll reach out whenever we need an extra pair of hands. When a project fits your schedule, you’ll have complete flexibility to say yes and provide an estimate for the work, and no pressure when it’s not the right match.</li> <li>We intentionally limit the size of our contractor pool to only a small handful of reliable, capable developers. We’d rather build long-term relationships with a few good coders who can function as an extension of our team, than have a race-to-the-bottom free for all whenever we get a new project.</li> <li>This is a great way to work on interesting challenges and collaborate with a passionate team, while still keeping the flexibility and autonomy you get as a freelancer.</li> <li>Heads up: We have a strong preference for working directly with individuals or small teams, rather than contracting out to whitelabel engineering companies.</li> </ul> <h3>Who we’re looking for:</h3> <p>In addition to being able to support our standard tech stack, we’re also looking for people who can help expand our capabilities. We’ve included a list below of some of the core abilities that we most frequently find useful, though it’s not necessarily all-encompassing. If you feel like we have enough meaningful overlap, we encourage you to reach out.</p> <ul> <li>Advanced WordPress development skills, including traditional WordPress implementations, Full Site Editing (FSE) setups, headless configurations, and Gutenberg.</li> <li>Strong ability with Javascript, and experience working with various JS technologies and modern front-end frameworks, like React, Vue, Node, Next, etc.</li> <li>Experience working with APIs to build integrations, and, in particular, hands-on experience implementing SSO in web applications.</li> <li>Search technologies, like Algolia, Typsense, or similar platforms.</li> <li>Strong ability with Git, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and an aptitude for documentation.</li> <li>Great communication skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and explain technical concepts in accessible terms.</li> </ul> <p>We’re also interested in people with experience working with:</p> <ul> <li>AI technologies in regards to search and building RAGs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Headless/modern CMSes, like Craft, Strapi, and other similar platforms.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <h3>Why work with Yoko Co?</h3> <ul> <li><strong>Do good, better:</strong>&nbsp;We exclusively serve clients who make a positive impact on the world.
