We are a fractional demand gen team engaged with a behavioral health SaaS company and are looking for an experienced Marketo engineer to support both an initial technical audit and the subsequent build and execution of a multi-persona nurture program. The engagement starts within the next two weeks and we need someone who can move quickly, work independently, and execute against a strategy that will be provided.
This is not a strategy role. The architecture, segmentation logic, content mapping, and program design will come from our team. We need a skilled technical partner who can assess what exists, tell us the truth about it, and then build what we design cleanly and correctly.
What you'll be working on:
The engagement has two phases.
Phase one is the audit. We need a thorough technical assessment of an existing Marketo instance including database health, segmentation logic, existing program architecture, lead scoring configuration, email performance history, form and landing page integration, and Salesforce sync status. You will be expected to document findings clearly and flag issues with specific recommendations, not just a list of problems.
Phase two is the build. Based on audit findings we will design a nurture program architecture and need someone to execute it inside Marketo. This includes smart list builds across multiple personas including practice owners, clinicians, office managers, and billers. Trigger-based and time-based nurture sequences. Lead scoring setup or refinement. Form and landing page integration. Email template builds. Reporting and analytics setup. Ongoing program support, optimization, and A/B testing as the engagement progresses.
Requirements:

You must have a minimum of three years of hands-on Marketo experience, not just familiarity. Please describe specific programs you have built, the complexity of the database environments you have worked in, your experience auditing existing Marketo instances, and your experience with Marketo and Salesforce integration specifically. Healthcare or healthcare SaaS experience is a strong plus but not required.
We are looking for someone who is responsive, communicates clearly, documents their work thoroughly, flags problems early rather than late, and treats our engagement as a priority. We have had excellent experiences with Marketo engineers on Upwork before and we know what good looks like.
Estimated hours will be heavier in week one during the audit phase and weeks two through four during the program build, with lighter ongoing support hours after that. We will agree on a weekly cap before work begins.
